Cosmopolitan Concord, a Paris-based band, draws from rhythms and tunes from around the world, using local instruments, and its members’ diverse musical and cultural backgrounds.
Roxanne Alexander had the album Exquisitely French in mind when she attended ATLA Music School in Paris where she studied computer-assisted composition with Stéfanus Vivens.
She was thrilled by his versatility and musical knowledge and asked him to join her as the musician, arranger and sound engineer of the band.
The first track he delivered was Poor People of Paris with Indian music instrumentation, as a surprise, a hint to Roxanne’s Indian origins.
The Cosmopolitan Concord sound was born. |
